Recommendation
of Medhealth Beirut 2007.
Under the patronage of HE General Emile Lahoud President
of the Republic of Lebanon, the Arab Hospitals Federation
held its fifth annual forum Medhealth 2007 on July 31- August
2, 2007 in Beirut. The President of the Republic was represented
by HE Dr. Mohammed Jawad Khalife Minister of Public Health
with the presence of HE. Dr. Hussein Gezairi Regional Director
of WHO – EMRO, Mr. Hatem Roubi representative of the
General Secretariat at the League of Arab States, Dr. Ali
Abu Grain the General Secretary of the League of Quality
Healthcare Services in addition to representatives from
the Ministries of Health in UAE, Kuwait, Egypt as well as
ambassadors from several Arab countries and many syndicates,
medical associations, healthcare and medical companies.
The event was organized by Mounassabattcom the promoting
and organizing company of the Arab Hospitals Federation
Activities.
During the opening ceremony, the President of the Republic
of Lebanon awarded medals to HE Dr. Hussein Gezairi Regional
Director of WHO – EMRO, Engineer Sobhi Batterjee President
of the Saudi German Hospitals Group and Dr. Ali Abu Grain
General Secretary of the League of Quality Healthcare Services
in appreciation to their efforts and support to the healthcare
sector.
The event included 2 conferences one for the Health management
having for theme “Risk Management in Arab Healthcare”
and a medical conference having for theme “Quality
& Safety in your hospital” in addition to a specialized
exhibition for medical supplies, equipment and medical and
healthcare institutions.
At the end of the presentations of all the speakers whose
number exceeded 45 the following recommendations were issued:
1-
Appreciation and gratitude to His Excellency General Emile
Lahoud for his patronage of the event and his continuous
support to the Federation and his wishes to hold the Annual
Forum constantly in Lebanon under the patronage of the President
of Republic.
2-
Appreciation and gratitude for all the Ministers of Health
in the Arab World for their support and their contribution
in the success of this event especially to His Excellency
Dr. Mohammed Jawad Khalifeh the Minister of Public Health
in Lebanon whose support and follow up contributed to the
success of this event
3-
Gratitude to the League of Arab States presided by HE. Mr.
Amro Moussa and to HE Dr. Nancy Bakir as well to Mr. Hatem
Roubi for their support of the Annual Forum and their work
on issuing the “Arab Accreditation tools for the Healthcare
institutions”
4-
Appreciation and gratitude to the sponsors of this event
namely Saudi German Hospitals Group as well as to all the
exhibitors who contributed in the success of this event
without forgetting to thank the President of the Federation
Dr. Faouzi Adaimi and the Administrative board as well as
the consultants for their continuous follow up.

The attendees considered that organizing this event during
this critical time in Lebanon and the region was a huge
challenge therefore they addressed their appreciation to
the Organizing Committee and the Organizing Company for
their excellent organization and for the scientific program
which was appreciated by the experts for its valuable and
beneficial content in exposing the experience of Lebanese
healthcare institutions in time of crisis

Appreciation of the attendees to the directives of the Arab
Ministers of Health Council in adopting the Arab Accreditation
tools for the Healthcare institutions and encouragement
of all related parties to adopt and apply them taking into
consideration that the Federation will spread their content
to all the concerned people in the Arab Healthcare sector
7-
Adoption of the League of Arab States demand submitted by
the Executive office of Arab Ministers of Health Council
to form a permanent committee to face health risks and crisis
8-
Adoption of the Federation as sponsor and executive party
through its members and contacts to realize the below:
a-
Continue the Quality and Accreditation path in all Arab
countries and encourage the national programs of Accreditation
and create capable human resources to manage and execute
these programs in the Arab countries
b- Spread the culture of safety and quality in hospitals
and adopt the Arab goals for patient safety
c- Study the possibility to have a bigger role in building
Arab capacities in the fields of Risk management, quality,
patient safety, Accreditation and hospital management in
cooperation with the professional and academic parties.
d- The necessity to hold specialized conferences, workshops
and training courses in all Arab countries and in all health
fields
9- Support the Federation in its contribution to upgrade
the Lebanese Healthcare services through studying the actual
status of the damaged healthcare institutions and collecting
the resources to rehabilitate them.
10-
Invitation of all Arab Healthcare institutions Private and
public to participate effectively in the activities held
by the federation because this federation represents them.
11-
The federation decided to organize its regular health meeting
in Sharm Sheikh in March 2008 during the Arab Ministers
of Health Council under the patronage of HE Mr. Amro Moussa
General Secretary of the League of Arab States and in collaboration
with the Regional Office of WHO and the executive office
of the Gulf Ministers of Health.

Confirmation on holding the Sixth Annual Forum in 2008 in
Beirut in the period of June- July.

Award
from the Lebanese Republic to Health personalities.
During the Fifth Annual Forum of the Arab Hospitals Federation,
the President of the Republic of Lebanon awarded medals
to distinguished health personalities namely HE Dr. Hussein
Gezairi – Regional Director of WHO – EMRO, Dr.
Ali Abu Grain Secretary General – Arab League for
Quality Healthcare Services, Eng. Sobhi Batterjee President
of Saudi German Hospitals Group for in appreciation to their
contribution and efforts in the Arab Healthcare sector.

thank you note for the renewal of the agreement for five
years.
Mounassabattcom the Organizing and Promoting Company of
all the Arab Hospitals Federation activities addresses its
deepest thanks to the Administrative board and the members
of the AHF for their confidence in the services provided
in the past five years and for their decision to renew the
agreement for the next five consecutive years starting 2008,
Hoping to reach success as usual in all the forthcoming
events.
